Ask your clinic about help from this Fund. If you live in Hillsborough, Pinellas or Pasco county, or if you are getting an abortion at one of the following clinics, this Fund may be able to help you: All Women's Health Center (Tampa and St. Petersburg), Tampa Women's Health Center, Bread and Roses, St. Petersburg Women's Health Center, All Women's OBGYN of Countryside, Women's Center of Hyde Park, or BSS International (Dr. Benjamin.)
W.O.M.E.N. stands for Women's Organization for Medical Emergency Needs, and consists of volunteers who believe that abortion funding is a simple matter of justice. The founders and current volunteers strongly believe that all women should be able to access safe abortion.
100% of all donations to W.O.M.E.N. go directly to services for women and girls. Their mission is to raise funds for low-income women and girls who choose to terminate their pregnancies but cannot afford to do so.
Last year, W.O.M.E.N. helped 264 women who would otherwise not have been able to afford an abortion. They also hold an annual wine-tasting fundraiser and have created an advocacy booklet about on reproductive justice entitled "In Their Own Words," which weaves together the organization's mission and history with the stories of the women who the fund has reached.
Donors and volunteers receive a copy of this booklet, and W.O.M.E.N. also sends copies to Florida's congressional representatives so that elected officials can hear the difficult stories that Funds hear from women every day.
For abortion Funds, raising money is half the battle, because they can’t help women unless they have something to give. Donating to your local abortion Fund means giving a woman the resources she needs to make the choice that is right for her.
