The Peggy Bowman Second Chance Fund can help residents of Kansas, even if they are going to a clinic out of state. This fund can also help pay for emergency contraception. After you have made your appointment for an abortion, ask your clinic to contact the Peggy Bowman Second Chance Fund for you at the number listed above—you can find a list Kansas abortion clinics here.
Other services: emergency contraception
The Peggy Bowman Second Chance Fund was started in 1996 to help provide reproductive equality for Kansas women. The fund’s goal is to never turn a woman away from the health care she needs simply because she is unable to pay.
Last year, the Peggy Bowman Second Chance Fund helped 238 women, who could not pay the total cost of their abortions, with $68,479.
In addition to abortion funding, members of the Peggy Bowman Second Chance Fund advocate for equitable health policies, and host a booth at the annual state fair in order to reach supporters statewide.
Donations to the fund give women the resources she needs to make the choice that is right for her.
You can read some of the thank you letters sent by women that the Peggy Bowman Second Chance Fund has helped.
