The Access Fund was founded in the early 1990s, when the clinic began asking patients to donate a dollar for someone who couldn’t afford abortion services.  Eventually, the Access Fund began to help women who didn't have money to get home, get to the clinic, or to pay for their abortions.  The Access Fund offers modest amounts of money to their patients or patients that they refer for second trimester services.

Women and their families still often choose to donate to the Access Fund when they visit Aphrodite Medical.  The Access Fund is able to help 3-4 patients a week.

For abortion funds, raising money is half the battle, because they can’t help women unless they have something to give.  Donating to your local abortion fund means giving a woman the resources she needs to make the choice that is right for her.
